The 2016 Wyoming Arbor Day Poster Contest theme was:
"Celebrate Trees in Our Community"
All Wyoming 4th and 5th grade students (including public, private and home-schooled) were invited to participate in the contest.
Thank you to all the educators who took the time to incorporate this into their students' education!
The contest deadline was March 28th, 2016.
Posters were judged and we are waiting on local announcement prior to announcing finalists.
The winner will receive their framed poster, plaque and $100. The winner's teacher will receive $100. The second place winner will receive their framed poster, plaque and $50.
The State Arbor Day Celebration will be held April 25 at 11 AM on the south lawn of the State Supreme Court Building at 22nd and Capitol Avenue. The winner of the contest will receive their award at this celebration.
Please contact Jessica Halverson if you have any questions about the poster contest. (307) 283-2954 or firstname.lastname@example.org
In 1888 the Wyoming Territorial Legislature declared the last Monday in April as Wyoming's official Arbor Day.
The Poster Contest is sponsored by the Wyoming State Forestry Division and Wyoming Project Learning Tree.
